As car guys, Classic car guys, we need at least some skills to keep our cars going. I'm sure that there are some here that can do it all. I'm asking the other 90%!
What skills do you wish that you had?
I'd like to learn more about automatic transmissions and electrical systems. I did do some of the rewire work in the Charger including the elimination of the ammeter wiring and such but I still need improvement in soldering.
I have built a few engines. None have exploded so far but one did split a connecting rod in half!

Troubleshooting.
I can repair nearly any problem...once I know what it is. I can also do body/paint and interior work.

body work and paint

I'm of the less educated variety. Just began driving my car after she was in storage for 35 years. I've forgotten nearly everything I once knew. I'd like to get good at electrical and general engine work. I've got a lot to relearn.

I wish I knew how to do paint/ body work. That stuff looks really complicated. It's amazing some of the work I've seen people do on here. I've tried to follow some threads and just look in awe at what some of you all have done. But I don't understand half of what they explained that was done.

Body and paint work also...I was lucky and had some good guys work on my car. Would be nice to be able to do it myself next time.

Just like Marpar, welding and better at electrical.

Paint & body, but I don't have a big need for that so I can live without it.
Electrical is not my strong point, though I can usually muddle through as long as it id not too technical.
I guess if I had to pick, I'd have to say I'd like my welding skills to be a little better.

I've tinkered with everything car related but would love to be a lot better at bodywork. Seams like I always struggle threw it but it sure would be nice to not dread doing it knowing that it's going to be an uphill battle!

welding, no question. it opens up all sorts of possibilities with the enjoyment of these cars.
