HI,
Ok I've got the over heating under control .. but now I have a loss of power and when I get on it I have that Blap Blap sound in my exhaust? did the times of overheating hurt my motor????
it seamed to be fine right after I fixed the over heating but now its doing this?
and the idiot light coming on at idle? i think that is the oil went bad going to change that and filter

First of all, what did you change to fix the over heating issue?

Did you touch the timing?

Did you loose oil pressure at any stage?

If you're suspecting that overheating damaged the motor, do a compression test.

HI,
for the over heating I replaced the radiator with one from ECP (Enginnerd Cooling Products). Now it barely gets over the 1/4 mark on the gauge with a 185* stat. going to go up to a 195* stat.

I replaced the oil and filter and the idiot light went away. so It was the oil loosing its viscosity. I think the shop that R&R my intake and heads used a crappy oil (cheap)

As for the Blaping in the exhaust , I'm going to replace the spark plugs and wires I'm thinking they are due anyway.. I'll up date when I get that done on that .. I was having some elect. choke problems got that fixed (replaced the connecting wire). So I may have fouled some plugs.. and the wires are funky looking and too long so may be cross firing.. need seperaters.
