Actually I didn't, fortunately I had the 7 2x6x16 left over from when I redid the property fence some years ago (put plastic fencing in). But your point is still valid; cost of lumber is stupid right now.

I did battle with some 6" front lawn tractor tires. After messing with removal and install I couldn't get the first to get enough air to seat it.
Took it over to my buddies down the street he has a blaster you set in the bead opening and it fires massive volume in there and voila!
I thought I was finished as the second one already had a tube.
Filled it with air but I must have punctured the tube with an iron leaks out the stem hole, you can hear it.
Crap! Still not done.![]()
Tried that with two different straps. Had kind of a dent from stretching it on.If I have trouble getting the bead to seat, I put a ratchet strap around the tire and tighten it to push the sides out.
Lol!! All done! Pic from the “crows nest” as we call it lookin 100 yds down the lane! We just seeded it for the season! We’ll see how it comes in!Git 'er done!

Finally got hold of some hedge plants and managed to dig them in yesterday just before winter and the rainy season. Been so long looking like a wild jungle that it looks awesome to us. Also checked out the local garden center for some more small filler plants.
My new shrubbery.....

In the next week or so I will trim the edge of the garden retaining wall, and add a top cap...then paint it the same as the fence behind.

Actually I missed the selling season by a few weeks...the garden shop had to special order these for me.My wife and I bought 7 Lilacs and 4 other plants a couple a days ago. Have not planted them yet though, too hot. Will be in the 60s on Monday though. Planted an Quaking Aspen, a River Birch, and three lilacs in the last weeks. Your set up looks great there Roger. Are bushes hard to come by round there?

Thanks Steve, I know they are slightly closer than normal, but I will meticulously trim the eventual bush, and keep the height and shape tidy. They grow to about 6 feet diameter by 12 feet in eight normally....but I want to trim so they stay relatively bushy from the ground up (ish) and no more than fence high (about 8 feet)Hedge plants might be a little too close to each other, however I am in Pa. USA and you are in NZ so it might be OK.
