What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Ya, i know it's an old A body car, but i rebuild lower control arms, so i went down to the Richmond, Commiefornia, Pick-N-Pull wrecking yard, and got the pair off this 63, this morning.

Finished about 30 minutes before the Plasterer arrived for the first visit. Finally got the first coat of mud on the drywall in our lounge room. Been a long time in the planning and execution....and finally making good progress.
I spent all weekend getting the last sheets in place.....even cut out the electrical boxes nicely....unlike most contractors ever did on jobs I've been on.

Looking forward to getting some paint moving next week.....but before that happens, we have a Mother's Day morning tea in the room. It was supposed to be ready, but work got in the way. Oh well, I have a bathroom to do next.

:xscuseless:

Was the car too far gone to save?
Ya, it was a rusted out piece of s**t.
I'm sure it wasn't a California car, because we don't see anything like that, out here in my part of the world.
Had to have been from a rust bucket state, than sat for decades, somewhere out here in Northern California.
Slant six, automatic, 9" drum brake car.
It came apart pretty easily.
The lower control arms that i got are just with lots of surface rust on them, but aren't pitted on the metal.
My 5 gallons of Evaporust will easily take care of that, and bring them back to nice new, bare metal condition.

really wish trent severn could get a handle on water mangement, this is getting long in the tooth every spring!theres a rd. and 10 ft. of lawn missing in the last pic.

Brought my utility trailer back from NH & pulled the wheels off to get new tires put on.

Yardwork: Put down fire ant killer and spot-treated several new mounds.
Yardwork: Put down mole repellent
Yardwork: Mulched some crape myrtle
Yardwork: Watered the vegetables, the shrubs, and the crape myrtles.
Yardwork: Weeded one flowerbed.
Yardwork: Unpacked the boxes of knockout rose trees that arrived late this afternoon. All four will be planted tomorrow.

Good thing I'm retired.

I hear ya Wayne, If I can find that ******* plow truck driver I'm gonna kill the bastage. Day 4 of raking and shoveling sod and gravel off of the yard!

Could've parked it down town and had someone do that for you....

True, but I had them both off in less than 5 minutes, and when it comes to tightening the lug nuts, I trust myself more than the tire jockeys.

Got my hearing aids this morning at the Stockton, California VA Medical Facility.
Do notice a difference in hearing human voice, in person, and the tv sound .
Guess i gotta get used to them.
And the instructions in wearing them, maintaining them, charging them.

I’ve been wearing them for about 6-7 years now.

Whole rental apartment is in primer (finally!). Yesterday I painted all the ceilings and installed 2 of the 3 ceiling fans, as well as the recessed lights throughout.

Today I final-sand that ONE f¢}©ing spot on the master ceiling that isn't level, paint that ceiling, and install the fan. Then, time to pick colors for the walls...get doors and trim...floors...and build the kitchen and tile the bath. Easy!

Went to finish the master bedroom ceiling...the patch I just put in CRACKED, so I had to sand it out and start over.

I wanted progress...so I painted the bathroom. It still looks funky cause it's wet, but.... progress!
