What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I did a stress test recently and expected bad results but....got way better results!! Who knows what's good or not so don't sweat it. If it's meant to be it will be.....
Exactly - don't sweat it. It is what it is, and they can fix whatever they find.

I had heart surgery in my early 40s - atrial flutter, 2 halves of my heart beating opposite each other, cancelling out any pumping ability. Racing heart rate...low blood pressure. Electrical misfire. Scope surgery to cauterize the misfiring nerves. Checked in at 0600; home for dinner that night. Unreal.

If you're really worried, get yourself a smart watch. I wear a Garmin. It tracks my heart rate, has a great app for long term tracking, and you can set alarms for low and high if you want. If you exercise, it has programs for cycling, rowing, elliptical, walking, running, and it also has built-in GPS so you can hike and stuff. I also have a Samsung - it looks nicer, more polished...but I hate the software. I much prefer the Garmin setup.

Keep in mind they aren't medically accurate, but they're more than sufficient for identifying trends. If your resting heart rate is always in the 70s but one day spikes to the 90s, or dips to the 60s...something's up. It lets you identify and chase the anomalies.

If you aren't a watch person, there's also the "Oura" ring which does much the same thing, but you have to have a subscription to their service.

Thanks @Cranky , it will be. I've had a severely leaking valve for a few years now. They tried to replace it at the hospital when I was in for an event not attributed to the valve so I shut that down. The reason it's not already done is because I'm one of 1%-2% of people with this affliction who's asymptomatic, meaning no symptoms. None of my doctors believe that, but it's true. My ejection refraction (volume of blood pumped out of the heart with each beat) is 70% while the average person is at 60%-65% (not my stat - that's what I was told). The handwriting is on the wall, but the timing is up to me. I would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this surgery. I know it's not uncommon and the medical community will tell you it's relatively safe. My deal is that if the chances of death on the operating table is .0000000something, I'm not inclined to do it until there's more reason than I have now. I have real life experience that tells me to stay out of the hospital. They're not as good as they want you to think!

She was a nice car. Big block 383 with a nice burble. She was headed to the crusher when I saved her and I had it 10 years. She lived outside and it was just time.
Oh I know those beautiful babes,... I found an old roommate one of those.. showed him how to pull off the road and into the park at about 35mph and crank er into doughnuts with out losing speed and back out on the road like nothing happened lol. Full on houses across the street.
Great cars.

@dadsbee What's the story on the chop top Ramcharger??
I've told it a dozen times here Dave! A bottle of Rum and the Wife's relatives I didn't like visiting for a day and I hit the old shop, got a cut wheel into the 4.5 and went nuts.. 6" chop and roof back together after being cut in 6 pieces. A few days of work in 1992! As far as it ever got, been sitting outside for 30+ years now and has barely rusted. 400 engine. Bought it in '83 when #1 Son was born..

LOL, made a great family rig and fishing machine. My old boat trailer made out of a french tent trailer. Pull the boat out and I still had all the cabinet drawers inside for gear... and a coffin to sleep in if need be.

Tin boats.
Lund, Springbok, Alumacraft and a few others, use a better quality aluminium. It has a dull grey colour. It will often dent when it hits a log or rock, as demonstrated by the canoe in Deliverance. They will usually last an owners life time.
Other cheaper models, will have a shiny finish. I think they have more nickel in the tin. These boats will split if they hit something solid, and will only last a long time, if not used.
The latest fad is welding which is claimed to be superior. The boats can crack and split near the welds. Rivets work fine, and are better IMO. The pattern of rivets has long been established.
Someone may live near the trailer place, where there is a man made lake, and a half scale model of the Bounty. Forgot the name of the trailers for now, but they are really good, better than EZ Loader, again IMO. Might be Shorelandr.
All info from my previous life in the boat business.
