My wife has been out of town since Monday.

For her birthday, I completely demo'ed our downstairs, replaced the floor tile, countertops, painted the walls, and redid the trim. I've put in 4 consecutive 15hr days. Still need to make a bench seat for under the window, but the hard parts are done

She gets back from her trip on Wednesday. I'm hustling to get everything done so I can surprise her

I am on the mainland, getting here was exciting enough. Ferry turned around mid ocean, pissing rain, wind squalls, leaking fuel tank XS400, and other misadventures.
But, this morning, my front door alarm sent me an intrusion alert. I checked, Ozzie David was on my front
lawn with his tracked digger. Was pulling stumps for me. Three total, one remains. Its roots go under my utility shed. When he tugged on the stump, the shed moved.
So I will saw that one off at ground level, and look at it again in about 8 years.
Back to snoozing towards Christmas.

Rigging.

We just started point 3 of 6. Then we have to run power to the (6) 1T chain motors and lift the truss. Then hang 38 lighting fixtures - 86# each - on the truss, and run power and Ethernet to all of them.

Before I fly back to Maryland on Tuesday morning.

Started building a sandblast pressure pot out of this old bladder tank. It is fairly heavy, built right in the USA not modern overseas crap. No worries putting the pressure to it.

RE: computer issues

there has been a rash of microsoft updates lately that replace drivers.
If you have specialized drivers for sound, video, network, wireless, HDD/SSD etc, they may have been replaced with inferior MS drivers.

That's happened to me at work several times in the past 2 weeks.

I've mostly been parts chasing, yesterday picked up(I don't need it but wanted it) a BB distributor points style, nice overall condition even has the roll pin collar instead of just pressed fit.

Checked out by the optometrist, got a new prescription, ordered new frame/eyeglasses, and ordered new sunglass lenses. Ate lunch at a chicken salad restaurant. Took the Mrs to Costco. Endured a lot of heavy traffic, but avoided the northbound I-95 parking lot by taking back roads. Got home and walked the dog.
