What Did You Find In Your Car - Buried Treasure?!?

doing auto upholstery i find all sorts from money, jewellery ,drugs ,gun, knifes

Found a receipt from a Kentucky store in th dash all folded up. I’m guessing it was trying to stop a squeak. It doesn’t have a date or name but it did state spark plugs were bought for the 383. The store is now closed but we looked it up on google earth and found the location and old building. Kind of neat to think that maybe the old car sat in that parking lot at some point..

streetwedg, if the name of the whisky was" yellowstone" it was distilled in my hometown, Owensboro Ky. traded for an old wrecked GTX once, glove box was locked, pried it open and found a full bottle of strawberries, or speckled birds as some called them, things went along pretty quick for about three weeks. My wife found a tube of lipstick that belonged to my ex-girlfriend. She promptly rolled down the window and tossed it out. I figured it was not a good time to mention littering laws.

That could have been worse, she could have found her lipstick on the dipstick!

In my current 68 RR
about a half a keg of 16p nails & a 20' tape measure
in the rear quarters
they guy that org. owned it was a carpenter

they were there for decades

When I bought my 74 Charger a couple years ago, in the glove box was original paperwork from first owner. This included the car order, finance paperwork, insurance info, window sticker and punch cards from Dodge (build cards?). Beside the back seat, found a Harley key chain and under the back seat found an original unused trunk key for the car. The original keys came with the car so not sure if that was put there by Dodge.

My 1996 Dodge Dakota was purchased new by my father and is now my daily driver with 285,000 miles on it. It was a ranch vehicle for the first 10 years of its life. I find spent .22 long rifle casings on the floor all the time, last one just a couple of days ago. They keep shaking loose from the dash, I guess (used to shoot a lot squirrels back on the ranch).

I did a quick search and didn't find a thread about the things we find in our cars when we rip them apart to restore them or refurb the interior. One of my favorite things to do is take an old car that's never been apart and dig into it. This last car I tore down is the 67 R/T. Off the road since 1980 and never apart. Other than a few gum wrappers, coins, and an ice scrapper it was pretty uneventful, until I took the dash out. When I took the dash out as an assembly some 1960/70's condoms fell out from somewhere. It wasn't in the ash tray or glove box, it's like they were stashed or something. Anyway, thought I would share.

What did you find in your car?

Anyone know how old these are? Somebody got lucky, one left in the two pack.

My Brother in Laws 72 Duster: WE pulled the Left rear interior panel and found two "frisbee" type things.
Remember "Wham-O" ?? They both had 1972 molded into them so we figured they were stuffed in the car on the assembly line.
