What strange foods do you eat that others don't understand??

When we were young my father and uncles would eat sheep heads .. think they're outlawed now .. they smelled great from the seasonings they used, but how in the world they ate them I don't know..I couldn't sit at the same table

not federally. maybe in NY state they is.

Wow... the more I read the more disgusted I get!

you asked

It's just a sponge cake with raisins, usually served with some custard on top.

Pretty normal.

I think it all harkens back to days gone by. Food was not as easily accessible/affordable. Most old timmers used everything or wasted very little...

Exactly, plus I was taught that you ate what was put in front of you and didn't leave anything on your plate. That's just the way it was. In my humble opinion that similar philosophy would go a long way to fixing what's wrong with a lot of "families" today.

That was the way it was. I have put just about everything imaginable on peas to make them eatable.
When we got old enough to fill our own plates you had to eat what you put on it. New things were deffinetly bite size.

As a little boy growing up on a farm in south Georgia, I would go hunting early in the morning with my uncle's old single barrel .410 shotgun early in the morning. I'd shoot squirrels, rabbits, quail and dove. Everything I brought home, my granny cleaned and put in the pot. Nothing was wasted, but that's how my people were. They didn't have much and were thankful for what they had. We worked a small tobacco farm. I remember going out at dawn to the fields and passing a chicken coop that had a chicken my granny was fattening up. When we come in for dinner (now called lunch most everywhere else), that chicken was fried and on the table. Precious memories for me.

In 1982 when the economy was just starting to recover, my Mom got creative in her efforts to feed us at dinner time. One night we got "Egg surprise" consisting of eggs and whatever leftovers she found in the fridge. It was not good but we ate it.

Yeah, we raised a lot of our own food, also. Still have a big garden. And it was always breakfast - dinner - supper.

Tequila should be taken orally.
It was.
Forgot to add one. One of the brothers at work brought in pig snoot sandwiches. Actually really good. Found out where he got em, went back for more.

Enough Crown Russian and you will not care what your eating. Cold uncooked fish has never been a favorite.

Little Dutch delicacies: pickled herring with onion and pickles, stewed beef with vinigar and onions, mayo pretty much on everything but mainly fries. Raw beef topped with a raw egg yolk (may kill you but it's worth it)

Canadian beaver tails with Nutella, kiwis with the skin on! Nutella on pickles, cod tongues, and for the fast food combos: mcchicken on a quarter pounder ... oh hells yes

Kippered herring, sardines, smoked salmon, anchovies, whole crab, and squid (Calamari)

Salad with mayonnaise and salt (never use salad dressing).

Hummus and guacamole sandwich on 8 grain bread (my lunch at least twice a week).

Tuna fish with cream cheese and tomato on a bagel.

Mezcal shot with the agave worm (haven't done those since college) !!
