I just got a 69' Satellite with a 440 - 6BBL in it, not original to the car. I have researched to try and find out what engine this is but have came up empty. It's a 68' casting (I think) but I don't see HP stamped. Not sure what it is. Could it be a warranty block? No idea.

It simply Designated the 375 HP version with the bigger camshaft.
HP1 or HP2 were just designations of what shift the engine was assembled.
Check the side rail = Engine was probably out of a C body/you can tell from the VIN
HP stamping has no significance on block casting or strength despite some if the
Fairy Tales that have gone around the last 50 years!

11-5-68 casting date = 1969 model year engine: "E" stamping = 1969
no HP stamp = 350 h.p. Only difference was camshaft and no windage tray,
Holley carb, instead of Carter AVS.

Lots of differences in the build. It has been said that hps were built from better spec parts, on a different shift.
Definitely an elite motor, but no one likes elite things when they're not in the the club.
Hemis are ****! Said the people that don't own them.

Just for the record, I agree with whomever claims that there is no significant differences in the usefulness of an HP vs LP block.
One is not structurally stronger than the other.

Would like info on the Satellite.
Pictures?

I sold an E Body because it had no trunk for the groceries.
Don't want another one now.
Why be in the optics crowd?
Found A bodies much more practical.
Not everyone wants a pink station wagon.
Not everyone wants a blue VW.
That's why they came in flavors.
I'm leaning towards primer in the RR.

1969 x 440, probably out of a C body being a non-HP. Check the VIN stamp on the passenger side just above the oil pan.

Back when you could walk a yard and pick out a 440 or 383 the pad stamp did not carry much weight.
We looked for late 60s
Chrysler boats , compass on the dash or Mary, plus the door jamb plastered with oil change stickers.
Thats the one I want.

Yep the good old days. Ma Fitzgerald in Jasper Ontario let us trade weight for weight. We blew up a motor and we traded it for a "new" one from her. Or you wanted a rear end = 2 stoves and a fridge! LOL. The only thing we paid "UP" for was radiators, she kept them locked up in an old milk truck. $20 + your old one.
