I know the exact moment I became a car guy. '62 Thunderbird. I was 6 years old. I was playing in a sandbox, and the neighbor had a toy model of this car. Before that toy cars were just lumps of pot metal or wind up toys with details printed on them. I had a toy Ford with the wind-up retractable top but I didn't love it.

My uncle’s 67 4-speed GTX. I was 16 and he was going to sell it to me for $150 and I could pay him later. She was tired and a little rough around the edges, but still managed 110 mph with the pedal about an inch off the floor. I cleaned her up, painted it Omaha Orange, and changed the clutch. Then my dad tried to get insurance with me as a secondary driver. Insurance man said “ We won’t insure a 16 year old in a Datsun with a 4-speed, let alone that thing”. I was crushed, had to give it back to my uncle. He traded for a ‘61 Ford pickup with my retard cousin who wrecked it. Silver lining, I picked up my ‘68 Bee 2 months later for $400.

For me, seeing a 1970 Plymouth Cuda, back in September 1970.
Must have just been purchased.
I probably looked at the car for 15 minutes or more.
Then in 1971, i ordered a Cuda, and kept it for 39 years.

Worked at a gas station in '65 as a kid. Owners son, who was the mechanic there, had a '57 Vette 283, 3-speed. That car sounded incredible, like nothing I heard before. Cam making it jump around. Beautiful red with a white cove and tan interior. Riding in it was not good, but the car looked great. Like this

I had to discover Mopars on my own, it didn't take long........ My first car was a 68 Chevelle, SS hood, 350 4 sp, and a Cal Custom foot gas pedal...... nailed a babe in that car first weekend on the road......it has a special place in my memory bank

There were many I liked, but the "one" was the '69 GTX owned by the local Plymouth dealer. Possibly the most heavily optioned '69 built, and his personal car for 15 years. I finally bought it, 52 years after a test drive in 1970.
It's the last Mopar I plan on owning, there's nothing I'd trade for it. Original owner's son passed all the dealership documents and memorabilia to me. His son will get the car when I'm gone.

The first time I saw a 68 Charger R/T, I was hooked. I said that is the car I want to own! Two years later there was a brand new 70 Charger R/T SE in our driveway! I have been a second generation Charger guy ever since.

When I was 3-4, my mom and I would walk to a friend's house.

Circa 1971/72.

On the way there, I would always stop and look at a 1954 buick and then a 1967/68 fastback Barracuda.

Same two cars, every trip.

My earliest memory of seeing a car that really caught my eye, I must've been in Grade 1 or 2. I was walking to school with an older kid and a Dart very similar to this drove by. It's funny how you can remember some details so vividly, but I asked the older boy, "What kind of car is that?!" and he replied, "It's a cool car." Something about that general Mopar body stuck with me and I fell in love with it. Later in my teen years, I built a Monogram model of a red 1974 Charger, and that fascinated me for a while, but my tastes changed slightly when I was old enough to buy a car, and it ended up being a 1970 Charger. I love a lot of Mopars, but none more than the '70 Charger.

Pretty much same for me. My parents have always said when I was a kid I would save my allowance and buy Charger die casts, models and hot wheels car before I was even really old enough to know what a Charger was or how to tell them from any other car, but I could already. Then seeing the movie Bullitt as a kid and then when the D.O.H. came out. That sealed the deal. I always said as a kid, I was going to own a Charger someday. I bought my first 70 Charger R/T at 15 years old before I had my license and have never been without at least one 68-70 Charger under my ownership since.

My Dad's 86' GMC Sierra 2500. This is me when I was 7 years old.

I was obsessed with it. He ordered it from the factory in Dark Blue. I got to choose the color. When it was delivered, I felt like a King riding in it with him. School-front pickups were the best. I was so proud.

I can still remember the feel of the bench seat and roar of those 35" mudders going down the road. God, I miss those days.

I used to walk by a '69 Mod Top Barracuda. Pale yellow. I didn't love it though. I assumed it was some lady's car. Later in High School I loved a friend's '70 Super Bee. It was bronze with a white top. Pistol grip 4-speed. Skyjackers with big wide meats on the rear. He was the son of our local Mopar dealer.

Unfortunately, Terry offed himself about 20 years ago. I wrote a letter telling his parents telling them how much we thought of him and that car. I bought my '70 Coronet with the idea of making a tribute to his car.

I was a teenage biker in the UK. Saw one of these at a race meet and that was it ... the love affair with American cars of the 50's and 60's started.
