Where did you and your car go today

I went out for a ride and then went to a few shops looking at some junk. It was 75, sunny and the car wanted to run. A guy offered to buy it today and I had to think about it for a minute. It was more than I paid for it in 2018.

The building on the left in the first picture was a firehouse, built in 1926 I believe. It was my first lesson in the world of property procurement. The city was selling it in 1979 for $35,000. By the time I got my offer submitted, minutes into this, an insider got it for less. It's been apartments seen then. The city did all the maintenance on it before this person was fortunate enough to steal it.

I would absolutely LIVE in that building- top photo, on the left.

That was the plan. I was looking for a house before we got married, I got married in 79. The bottom would have worked perfect for playing while we lived up stairs for a few years. Then I rent out the top and keep the bottom for me.

Had a friend that built cars. He bought a piece of property in town and built a steel building over a hundred feet long and about 60 feet wide. He built a wood shop, car shop and a place to store equipment at one end. He lived in it at the other end, two stories, overlooking this huge shop. I built the bridge to get to it for him. It was absolutely too cool. In the house part, it looked like a palace inside and the shops were as neat as a pin. It was truly fun.

You should have stopped, so they could see what a real car looks like.
I did what I usually do, get down to 20 mph, honk the horn and push the go pedal through the floor. It breaks loose and screams through those old school Dynomax glasspacks. If they don't see the smoke or hear me, I'm in front of a cemetery, not a car show.

There's a EPC computer store, not a mile from me. They sponsor a car show every year. They have a parking lot that's about 5 acres, divided in half, with a two lane entrance drive that's about 500 feet long down the middle lined with trees on both sides. Cars by the dozens in both sides of the lot, but you have to leave through the gauntlet, lined with people after the show. It's tradition that every car do a burnout on their way to the main road. People wait all day for the end of the show to watch legal burnouts. EPC doesn't mind, their landlord is my wife's cousin, he drives a 55 Thunderbird, you bet he's there. It's all asphalt and he has the gauntlet resealed every year. You talk about a good time!!! The cops show up to watch. Two friends of mine come from about 50 miles away every year. One drives a blue 72 Challenger big block and the other a yellow 69 340 Dart, totally done! You can hear it from my house.

Went my Daughter and Son in law's house to help him work on his Duster. It is his first classic musclecar, he is excited and likes the car so far.

Went for a cruise today, 87 degrees, a/c on. Bought a few things at my junk shop, and headed for the road. On my way home, I went and got my mail. Nice day!!

I went to work, and unfortunately the cars stayed home in the garage. But last year they went to work.

Put the bike rack on the Jeep TJ, and went to Gettysburg to get some exercise. 8.5 miles on the mountain bike, good cardio workout.

On the way home I saw something, so I went home, grabbed the Charger, and went to check it out. Another very cool survivor!

No idea what year, the owner never came out...but what a cool old boat!

Two times ago when out with the Satellite, I passed a Petty blue Dart Sport I've never seen before, on a side street with the driver under the car.
I turned around two blocks later, and went back but they were gone.
I've not seen that car since, either.

A friend and I were the first to a local car show. Beautiful Mi. spring day....
