Wish I had some pictures....was near Mesa gateway airport today and watched the MD11 and ATR I think fire tankers coming and going. They are fighting a huge brush fire just east of phoenix in rough terrain. Those pilots are good.

Yeah, but they weren't designed as a fighter, and seldom engaged them. Designed as an observer for naval fleets, they also served as coastal patrols looking for submarines, and the Finnish Air Force found use for them as a way to supply troops near lakes in enemy territory.
