Who Likes Aircraft ?

at a glance you'd say that was a spitfire , always liked the "bigger" planes( typhoon/tempest , P 47, F4U ) myself .

like preferring a charger to a Ferrari :shruggy:

Speaking of Ferrari, well be bringing a fake 250 project in next month....an Alpha kit that goes on Datsun Z.....one of the 1st 3 kits Alphabet sold. Doing a Daytona Cobra 289 clone motor and true knock off Halibrand whls in place of Boranni wires. hilite of kit is it is OEM Ferrari trim hardware....
.Enzo sued the snot out of Alphabet for this....the yrim box is worth who knows, but the competition aluminum gas neck w brass latch alone is probly worth what we are paying for entire roller. I worked on this along w 2 others in 1983...this one is a 260 Z. Pete Brock, who designed the Daytona Coupe' bod is also BRE, who so successfully campaigned Datsun 510 and Z cars in SCCA under American colors....remember the diagonal red and blue stripes down fender sides? The poseur will be black w the BRE stripes. The Ferrari 250 GTO is THE most valuable car in world.
..last documented sale....52M......our fake will be @ least faster than real deal. Dalpherrari 260 GTO Z Especiale'

Like comparing a 4150 lb. Ferrari FF to a 4600 lb. Hellcat Charger? :)

That HO 229 was pretty cool, but far too late in the war effort to be of help. The prototype that flew was claimed to be better than the Me 262 and went 600 mph. The pictures don't really show, but it was largely built of plywood. Early German radar operators noticed that they had problems picking up the British Mosquitos, a largely wooden aircraft, so this technique was built into the Horton aircraft along with layers of carbon powder mixed in the glue.

On the FW190 subject, many people aren't aware that the Grumman F8F Bearcat was designed with features learned from allied evaluation of captured FW190's. Compare pics of those two side by side and the similarities are quite striking especially with respect to the forward fuselage/wing/gear.

the fw 190 "dorna "series were the "long nosed "ones , they were the ones equipped with the junkers jumo 213e/f motors
