5 Grand flew a total of 78 combat missions over the German Reich, all while still adorned with her builders signatures. She then returned her crew safely to the United States and was then sold off to airplane scrappers in Kingman, AZ, where she was unceremoniously broken up and scrapped, forever lost to history on 22 Nov 1945.
