That thing has incredible firepower, but what it also has is incredible recoil. When fired, it gives 10,000 pounds of recoil force. To compare, each engine has only 9,065 pounds of forward thrust. Even a one or two second burst slows the plane down a few miles per hour.

Built in the forties, the Super Constellation was the ultimate is modern air travel, until the late sixties, when jets were introduced. The flames you see are for show. They rich-en the fuel mixture to produce this affect. You have a favorite aircraft ? Post a video or picture of it.


My wife got to skydive out of a connie at a boogie in quincy, illinois. I missed out on that jump.
