Windshield wipers and Parking Question

Hello,

Just installed new wipers, and it appears these wipers want to "park" down under the hood on the aluminum piece. That is quite a high lip for the wipers to jump over to park. Isn't that going to be bad for the wipers and the arms? I even tried to bend the aluminum piece so it would be a more gradual level to park on, but no luck.

Is there a way to fix this, or is this how it always was?

You might have to remove & reset the entire wiper arms to find the best position to avoid this.
Loosely attach the arms or use a piece of cardboard attached to the pivots to replicate the ENTIRE sweep range before locking them down.
