Winters Shifter Problem?

Have a winters shifter installed on my 70RR. Car is just going back together and ran into a problem I don’t remember having. The shifter linkage hits the trans cooler line and won’t allow it to go into third.

Car has a Cope full manual reverse valve body in it. I had a Cheeta Reverse VB before and don’t remember it being that close.

Anyone have this problem? Should I grind the linkage?

I recall my car when bought had one and it was notched by previous owner but after I restored the car I sold the shifter and hardware
