Wiring harness question.

WHAT ARE THE FACTORY HARNESSES WRAPPED IN, SEEMS LIKE A CLOTH TYPE OF TAPE? ANY IDEAS. I'M REWIRING MINE AND WANT TO WRAP IT BACK CORRECTLY. OH, MINES A 72 SATTELITE. THANKS FELLOW MOPAR HEADS.:confused3:
