Yankee Express RestoMod Project

What are the jam bellows out of?
The same 2004 Audi A6 Quattro All Road that the dash came from. They are very cleverly designed too. Those crafty Germans! They snap right into the sheet metal. They would work on any car I should think..have foam inserts too, to protect the loom from sharp edges. The boots are designed with a little ridge along the faces that when the collar snaps into the sheet Metal that ridge provides positive pressure to keep out dust and water., Very clever.

Decided I didn't do a good enough job the first time in trimming the inner fender close our panels to fit the shock tower contours. I added pizza box cardboard to the areas and taped them in place as templates for the new steel when I get it.

T Bird light lenses went on today with the blacked out trim. I think it looks even better than I imagined it would years ago when I thought of it.

This is one of the best phases of the project in my mind - when it all starts coming together.
It's almost better than when it's completely done.
Well done, it's been a long road but you've stuck with it.

I wish that I knew a place that could make the aluminum trim in two long pieces instead of having to cobble together short lengths. Also need to dab some black paint on the screw heads. The trim, the black wheels and the rear windows all being black will all tie in with that wide bumper and help it seem more at home on there.

So, looking from the roof of the car down, you get copper, black, copper black, copper, black.....symmetry.

I had one guy today posted up a vomiting emoji. I told him that he's the first one out of hundreds, who have seen it on line and in person, that didn't like it. I said that I would take those odds all day long. lol. And also that it was " A good job that I didn't build it for him...lol"
Your work speaks for itself, and requires no justification except that it satisfies your vision. I'm excited to see what's in your imagination become reality.

Got the bumper aligned and positioned correctly and stuck the lower trim on beneath the taillights, still needs repainting.

Trying to decide whether to paint the bumper bolts on both bumpers black or leave them as is.
