What will you do if gas hits $5 ?

walk to work.. its only 2 blocks away (i should be doing that now :D )

oh.. um... create my own alcohol distillery and change my vehicles over to alcohol burners.

i will still drive whatever car/truck i feel like using but might choose my trips a better as far as where and how far.in august my wife will graduate from college and walk across the stage in chicago so we will probably take the vehicle that gets the better mileage.

Funny now I'm not just jumping into my car and running errands at will. Now I wait till I can get everything done at the same time.
I use to like to take a ride to Autozone or Home depot for car parts or some hardware but now I'll just wait till I pass one while I'm driving with work.

Its a shame, but we do also.. medicine, grocery's, hate to go without the medicine and ive tried to get them to give them to me at once, but there's always something,,, anything to save a trip.
Daily driver is a 04 Malibu but even that takes the fuel...
One time I sometimes wish we were closer to a town, love the boonies though!

I'll drive my 65 Coronet 500 past a Prius so fast I'll suck the gas out of his tank :)

LOL....

If/when gas goes to $5.00/gal looks like I'll just spend more money on gas. Wow, good thing my 69 Road Runner is nearing completion.

I'm not buying into the Prius BS and if I do go in the direction of higher fuel mileage I'll probably get a diesel or build a slant 6 Dart with an aluminum OD 4 spd and fuel injection.

**** bricks. I didn't see anyone say **** bricks. I just put 60 bucks in my Valiant. I **** bricks. It didn't read full. I **** bricks. I didn't see anyone say **** bricks.......

What are you guys complaining about? I mean, when gasprize hits $5 a gallon, i'll be jumping around!...'cause it's now stuck at $8.3 a gallon :angryfire:

Ok ok...that's in the Netherlands...but still...

Question for you folks in other places that are paying twice our price. Do you have a public transportation system that actually works? What are you paying for other conveniences of life? Health care? Housing? Water? Electricity? I'm actually curious as to how this affects other areas. I know for me, my driving distance doesn't change all that much, but to have a huge increase in my cost to get to a job that still pays the same has an impact on my budget.

Water cost $2 for 250 gallon, a normal house cost $500.000, health care is in the tax which is one of the highest in the world, electricity cost is average 3-4 KW for $1, average payment as employed I guess 1h $20.

Oil prices affect ALL prices. Anything you buy had to get there somehow, so it's not just gonna be my driving that will be affected. Food, clothing, consumables, electricity, water, sanitation... Bottom line, oil prices go up, you won't just be spending more on gas.

Correct. Because everything in your house and garage has at some point prior to assembly or retail, been transported by truck.

i wish they would pay me more to transport it then:laughing4::laughing4:.evrything is going up in price except our wages.

I love how you did the interior 1962 Savoy. Very cool.

Thanks bro.. I just returned it back to stock and left off the arm rests for a cleaner look. The pistol grip shifter is something i allways wanted so i stuck it in as well.

Yeah, but I bet you guys don't pay $1850.00 a month for health insurance and $35,000 a year for property & school tax. :puke:

I won't be racing much this year. Totally sucks too because I will have the car done this spring.
