Family Tradition

Prop, I used paint that I did get at a hobby shop for my Pirindl (gear) selector in the column. It's called Fluorescent Red #4703 by "Model Master". It says red, but it's really orange. Looks like the same paint as posted above, but a different #.

FYI the column needle now matches my AM radio frequency indicator perfectly. It's a translucent finish so I purchased their flat white, #4769, color that I used as a base, and then the orange on top. I'll post a pic of the before and after for you over the weekend so you can see the results. I used this same combo on my Cuda's rally cluster needles and it looked good there, too.

Hope that helps

Still have to find me some orange paint to paint the needles in the cluster yet. I'm thinking the hobby shop might have something along the same lines?

Great find Propwash! Congratulations.
Great "Christmas present" to yourself and family.

Wow, that turned out great Fish! I picked up a bottle of the #4703 today at the little hobby shop down the road. Kinda stoked to see how she turns out. Thanks again.

BTW..Nice pair of 70's in the garage

Thanks Prop! Good eye on spotting the pair of my 70 Plymouth RTS rides in the background. Stay tuned for my "resto" thread coming soon where I'll post the pics of all the work I did to my 70 RR this year...nothing crazy like I've seen in yours and others. More like fixing up the stuff that either wasn't restored at all, or half-assed!

Hey thanks again fella's for the tip on the guage/speedo needle paint. It matched perfect! Looks new again.

Even though my cluster lense is pretty much junk being hazed, cracked and chipped (on the hunt for a replacement), figured I toss up a pic of the cluster lighted up with the new blue LED's installed. I also have the blue LED's to install in the radio, ashtray, and ignition. I'm digging the blue, but I think red would have looked pretty snazy as well.

I think I might have missed one of the million threads to your car but tell more about the LED's...COOL

LOL...No doubt Tor-Red. By the time the story/thread is complete on this car, a guy could publish it as a book. Sure is long enough.

As far as the LED's, the company I go through has any type bulb the 69' needs in LED. They even have a handy buld finder for your make/model. Just plug them in and you're good to go as far as the interior lights. They also work with my factory dimmer. As far as exterior bulbs, a LED flasher would be needed to use with the turn signal's, because the LED's draw so little compared to a factory, the factory flasher doesn't receive enough to engage.

I've ordered from these guys about a half a dozen times with no issues at all.

Thanks for the info, Prop. I'll try to keep up on this post more.

No problem Tor-Red!

Heck, I need to keep up on this thread more myself....LOL Hopefully I can keep my rear in gear and continue plugging away on her.

Enjoy your R&R and have a great Holidays!

That wasn't the first time I had to dig out a "someone's pissed cat" photo in rebuttal to your sarcasm..lol

I was digging in my bucket of excuses of why the roadrunner's not done yet, but it seems the bucket's empty...crap.

Those blue LED's in the Rallye dash look great!

Love the look of the LEDs, I've put them in a few dashes myself before you could just buy direct inserts. I soldered these in to this dash that you could barely see before. I know, I know, it's not Chrysler but it is a Daimler product. Hey Propwash, no excuse needed. Some times S*** happens and ya gotta get back on the horse(BIRD), at sometime. Eagerly awaiting progress....

Those blue LED lights look great! I like the idea of red to, not so much because of my cars color but if any of you seen the Hammer project on TV, The 70 RR GTX Charcoal colored i think, and someone said it was in a movie but when they finished Hammer and finally got it to the SEMA show, You could see the red LED lights and wow were they beautiful...
