1969 Road Runner facelift

Huh,never seen anybody work on a car in an Easter Bunny outfit. You'll have to get us pictures. Sorry, couldn't resist. Seriously, that fender repair looks great. Can't even tell where you patched it.

Looks good Dave! That inner structure brace is bare-metal on all our cars, so, out mine came on either the GTX, or Satellite, or both...???...and I blasted and epoxy primed the insides, then remounted them! The REAL test comes when millimeters 'off' means the fenders are inches off alignment. BUT...that's a bridge yet to cross! hahaha

well i did a little blasting/grinding to that fender, cleaned it up and blasted a coat of epoxy on it.

The biggest part was cleaning the inside of the fender and up by the headlight area.

Blasters are awesome.

The kids are over now for Easter so I might be done for the day as far as plymouth work.

Well My drivers side fender is all patched up as well now, mud flap and wheel molding screw holes welded shut (24 on this side)

Prep and epoxy prime tomorrow.

That is some great work on the fender, never would know it was patched! great work your doing and its nice to see the update good luck..

I need a windshield.

And an antenna for the passenger fender....

Cant remember if I got the windshield gasket yet..., I'll have to dig through my parts pile tonight.

Pretty good afternoon in the shop. Some really dirty work cleaning inside front fender areas, including A-arms, brake drums etc.. Epoxy prime. satin black urethane, re-apply undercoating . Also welded fender nuts back into the places they broke out of.. Pretty decent afternoon, love getting some of that dirty work out of the way.

Sounds like a good time Dave. Are you painting the underside body color or black? If so are you using flat, satin, or semi gloss? I know the purists will cringe, but I am thinking of going black on the bottom of the trunk and floor pans my Charger.

Well, I really want to drive the car again lol!

So, I will be satin black with a mix of undercoating spray, most of which has been under the car for decades and is actually doing no harm.

It probably makes no sense to some here but I will be happier getting the body and paint done on the outside of the car so I can enjoy a season of driving the car. Then next winter I can tinker with the underside. I know eventually I'll have all of the undercoating removed and I'll have color under the car.

But for now I plan on doing as nice of a job as I can with a black underside.

I'll try to take some pictures today.

Hopefully the fenders can go back on today.

looking good Dave ,busy busy :icon_thumleft:

Nasty day under a 44 yr old plymouth. Tiny wire wheel on a 90 degree angle die grinder. Various scrapers and wire brushes....

She pretty spiffy under there now, springs, axle, All that under the car junk. Primed with epoxy, then a shot of satin black urethane.

Terrible pics too, my phone is on it's last leg.

It's snowing so I can't blast the last fender... dammit.

I just got out of the shower, I had to start with dawn dish soap and work my way towards human cleaning products... ick.

And old varnished grease particles off the wire wheel filth slinger, and dirt, and primer... Literally, I didn't know that it was me that would be coated with this mixture.. lol!

Rock N' Roll.....Makes a guy feel great walking through the door in 10 layers of filth, knowing the crap works just been concurred. Tin Chicken's looking good Dave.
