I's not on until 3:00pm here on ESPN 2,
I wish they'd show Pro-Mod too...

Something unusual happened this week. Something that I don't remember happening before in our NHRA "Pick 'Em" game. Nobody picked the #1 qualifier in either Top Fuel, Funny Car or Pro Stock.
Congrats to memike (FABO) and 67cudafb (FABO) for sharing the Top Qualifier at the Ford Thunder Valley Nationals with a real nice total of of 21.0 bonus points. They both picked the #3 qualifier in Top Fuel, #4 qualifier in Funny Car and the #2 qualifier in Pro Stock.
Duster79 (FABO) is right behind with 20.5 bonus points.
Budnicks is the best FBBO qualifier this week with 19.0 bonus points. Way to go all!

This week players picked:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a potential of two head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers. One Round 1 head-to-head matchup between Courtney Force (3 picks) and Jack Beckman (1 pick), and two potential head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, and the possibility of only 1 head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations.

Good luck all!

yea ha, thanks guys,
that's a 1st no-one picking the #1 qualifier in either of the 3 pro-categories, strange
now lets see how they do in the rounds...

Britney Force's car is starting to come around, she got lucky Tony Schumacher's ET was thrown out, because of a lights glitch/malfunction, kind of backed into the #1 spot...

Not sure why they don't show Pro-Mod it's by far, my favorite class,
but they only run like IIRC 8-10 NHRA races, only on longer tracks full 1/4 mile, with good shut down areas, but still they should show them thou...

Warm weather and a greasy track made for some tuning nightmares. That combination always means some unusual results with some favorites going out early.
Congratulations to 'IEduster' (FABO) for being "Top Picker Eliminator" for the Thunder Valley Nationals with a very nice point total of 107.5. He picked the class winners in Top Fuel and Pro Stock. His Funny Car pick went one round of eliminations.
'Budnicks' (FBBO) came in as the event runner-up with a nice point total of 94.0 with a class win in Top Fuel. His Pro Stock pick went two rounds and his Funny Car pick went one round of eliminations.
Great picking!

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Brittany Force, 3.828 during qualifying
Speed - Tony Schumacher, 330.47 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Del Worsham, 3.992 during qualifying
Speed - Del Worsham, 319.45 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Shane Gray and Jeg Coughlin Jr., 6.621 during qualifying
Speed - Shane Gray, 208.78 during qualifying

Thanks Bud! Thought for sure I'd drop back positions but very surprised to pick one up.
Tried to stay awake for the eliminations but threw in the towel when AJ went out in the first round.

Here's your Tuesday-before-the-event reminder before the 11th race of the 2014 season, the 2nd Annual Auto-Plus NHRA New England Nationals, June 19-22, at New England Dragway in Epping, NH.
This is the second of four consecutive weekend NHRA national events so don't slack off on getting your picks posted in time.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, June 20 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:15PM EDT (1:15PM PDT).
The weather forecast looks to be pretty good with only a 20% possibility of some rain on Sunday, but that may change as we get closer to the weekend. High temps in the mid 70s through the weekend.
The Thunder Valley Nationals entry list is posted on http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist11.aspx and now shows 16 Top Fuel, 16 Funny Car, 15 Pro Stock and 18 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are still subject to change.
If only 15 Pro Stock cars show up your Pro Stock pick would get you an automatic first round 'win' if you correctly pick the #1 qualifier.
Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist11.aspx for an updated entry list.
Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!
