Valentine's Day....rant?

Already had a few reminders from various people and places including the TV. Well, kinda hard to forget it since it's also my analversary I mean anniversary. One good thing about it is that she hates flowers! JK JK lol but she really doesn't like dead flowers so it's kinda hard to just get away with going out and getting a box of chocolates (she's already overweight) and some dead flowers. I know that all sounds mean but....I'm mean!! Not really. Actually, we've been married 29 freakin I mean glorious years (?) but we've known each other for 45. Can't say we were high school sweethearts because I graduated in 69 and she didn't graduate lol not to mention she went to a different high school. After dating for about a year, Uncle Sam got me and she quit school to get a full time job. She was going to move away from home one way or another since living at home with a crazy mom was getting kinda bad but what I didn't plan for was some other swinging dick to come along and married her. On the other hand, marriage was not in my cards at the time and told her if she didn't want to wait on me, don't....and she didn't! Damnit. 15 years later, I got her back and I would post a pic of her but I can't find one anywhere on the web!

I'm lucky that she only wants and expects a card with something nice I write in it. Not writing typical Happy this and Happy that but something from the heart. A few sentences. At first it was easy but now I google stuff to say and pick one that seems fitting. Shhhhhh....don't tell :eusa_naughty:

hell i got it easy i dont do anything, i found and bought her a part for her charger so its a win win i get the stuff i need to fix the car and shes happy because her car is getting a little further so yeah easy of me good luck to every one else

We usually make a run to Galveston and eat at one of the better restaurants on the sea wall. If the weather is half way decent, we'll walk along the beach on the west end....what's left of it anyways.

I'm lucky...my wife has become accustomed to me not willing to part with hard earned dollars for a few flowers that might last 5 days at best during the peak of our Summertime. Fortunately she appreciates a nice dinner out....even if the kids come along, and every couple of years of so, I spring some flowers by Courier to her work....makes the day a whole lot better. I'm not a total tight-***....but I detest paying the hiked up prices for a one-shot deal like Florists /Valentines Day

I usually buy a plant or flowers and a card. But last years Orchid became infested with bugs and I seen her throw it out the back door. Maybe Jewelry this year..

Well, today is the big day!! The kid moved back home because her rent was going up 400 a month and the townhouse deal that was lined up fell through so we said she could move in until she found another place. I'm not worried because she likes being out and on her own but man, it's tough finding a decent place in this town right now. Also, she wrecked her car on moving day and my wife just said she's dealing with a sore throat so I guess I'll be the one that has to do all the work tonight but looks like the wife and kid may go looking for a car. Last time they did that they came home with one of those Pitiful Things....PT Cruiser! Man, I'm so glad that thing is gone. Already told the daughter that she better not listen to her mom this time and bring another one home.
