Trying to remove headliner on 72 SSP without breaking any of the plastic clips that hold the shoulder belts in their storage hooks along the roof. How do I reach the screws? I assume those plastic pieces slide out of the way somehow, up, down, out, or sideways--can't figure it out. Probably could use some guidance on the coat hooks, too. Thank you. Sincerely from "scared to pull too hard". Once those are out of the way, can I just start pullin' and rippin' away?

The covers for the hooks just slide up and then you will see screws holding the bracket to the ceiling of the car.

Yes, I did manage to get them off by sliding them up and I thank FBBO member above for the tip. However, there was a "catch" (no pun intended). The first three slid up rather easily, the last one (of course) would not budge. Examining those already removed, I found a strong steel sheet metal spring clip that engages the plastic covers and keeps them from falling off. It was a miracle I removed the first three, working against this hidden clip, without breaking the plastic covers. I removed the fourth one using a tiny screwdriver to disengage the spring metal clip. Clip is on the left side of the metal bracket on the bottom (top left corner of the foto). Forgot to look if passenger side and driver's side brackets have clip in same orientation. Anyway, beware.

Glad you cought that those little clips are a pain ,when I did my first one it was like that all slide up fine but one.

they can be quite stubborn to get off.
the best way to get them is putting a small screwdriver in behind them like you did
and twist the driver a little to pull them off the tang as you wiggle them upwards.
