Trick Flows on the 440.....

So I wonder what the torque and power would look like running only on the pig rich center carburetor............

Ya gotta like having four more barrels to go with.

So I'm guessing back to 64's on the center?

Yes I do on the extra 4 bbls!

HT413 that torque line should work great with the OD! Should have plenty of giddy up for passing! 2800 RPM at 65-70 ought to pull really hard over 100 mph, hypothetically....

Haha, yeah I think if you suddenly lost 1st and 2nd gear, with that torque "curve" you might not even notice.

Jim is doing some rejetting today, staggering some of the outboards. So may have some more dyno pulls today. He is doing his pulls with 91 octane with 10% ethanol. His dyno is at 5000 ft altitude so I'll have to jet up a couple most likely when I get home.

How about 87 octane w/10% ethanol? About all that's available around here.

Jim thought it might run ok on that. I'm sure it'd be ok in a pinch if you weren't hammering on it. We shall see what Jim says about that. I had said I wanted it 91 friendly instead of 93. Hence the 9.9:1 CR. The heads have a great 78cc pocket coupled with the pistons should be a great combo that may get away with 89. But again I will Jim verify that.

Jims still tweaking. Fighting with idle mixture & main jetting.

Haven't done anything but fiddle with the fuel mixture and a little bit of timing. This engine is going to run with a 6-bbl so we aren't wasting a bunch of time on these other combinations.

Me, I think I'll run the dual plane.................

So, next up is the 6-bbl. Unfortunately the 6-bbl fuel lines are a sprinkler system right now.............ooh, ooh, pick me, I'll fix it.

I've added the 6-pack line from today's results, its not lookin' half bad. As I get the lower rpm values I'll add them

Thanks Jim! Boy it sure has good bottom end torque!!!

I went through and adjusted from peak #s of either combo. To make it easier to compare. Definite advantage 4700 rpm & below! And holds it's own the rest of the way up. Very impressive!

Don't think I could wait. LOL

Car should be on the road this summer? Coming up to MN for Mopars in the Park in June?

six pack really held its own. wonder how it would have stacked up with my "special center carb"

Reed I doubt I'll be done for that but may come up anyway.

68 Hemi GTS probably would have been over 600 hp.

Well the 440+6 is home! Bad part is I'm not smart enough to get the video loaded @%#*+! Oh well maybe Jim can help me out. So this thing sounds great.
We made a couple pulls with it and it made 589 & 590 hp. Now on a side note he had it jetted for my altitude witch is 900 ft. His altitude is 5000 feet. So that being said AF ratio was 9.75 instead of 12.5 to 13. So by my calculation and research you need to adjust 1 jet size for every 2000 ft of alt. change. So I have no doubt this is a 600 hp combo. I maybe able to prove that with some track testing using the Wallace calculator. I will be installing a O2 sensor on both banks for tuning when it's up and running. This will help for WOT & cruising to get it tuned to a razors edge.
