People Wrecking Hellcats?

I've driven cars capable of nine second quarter mile times. Selling cars capable of that kind of performance to the general public and allowing them to drive them with no training is probably asking for trouble. The results at least in some cases are predictable. At least the two guys in the story were on an airport runway and not on a public highway.

Who knows, maybe the driver had a medical emergency, says the guys were 71 & 76. Maybe just faster than they realized.

Another case of more than likely,
Low Performance drivers, in high performance cars...

Way back in 1993 the actor Kelsey Grammer bought a new Viper at West Oaks Dodge.Drove it about 3 blocks and totaled it.My buddy worked in the parts dept at the time. Like said above, low performance drivers and high performance cars....don't mix.

just goes to show , fools have no age limits . getting up to speed has never been an issue . but stopping has always been the one , no one thinks out . to bad for them . more fuel for the hipo banding fire .

So two guys that old decided to run a car like that to the end of a runway, through some space, and into a ravine. This sure sounds like a planned suicide to me, and maybe not a bad way to go.

This is an odd one. Being a planned test and two on board?:realcrazy:

Same issue with bikes that have 200 plus rear wheel horsepower....i hate regulation but i do believe in the case of box stock high, high performance off the lot there should be mandatory schooling & qualification. No pussyfooting, qualification to handle the machine AFTER limits have been stepped beyond & be able to recover.

You can't fix stupid, no matter how much you teach...

Hey the new Demon, you get to go to school with purchase.

Oh c'mon now . . . someone told them how that car "flies" . . . and they were testing out the statement !
