People Wrecking Hellcats?

"They were likely going more than 100 mph when they ran off the runway, the paper reported."
Ummm.YEAH! They were likely going over 100 if they went more than 1/8th mile.

Those two guys didn't think!
Hellcat 1/4 mi 11 sec- 120 mph 30.5 seconds more
OH **** where did the runway go. It's behind you stupid.

Selling cars capable of that kind of performance to the general public and allowing them to drive them with no training is probably asking for trouble.

Hey, you can buy a airplane without training, but doesn't mean you can fly it, even with training! Just because you can buy something, doesn't mean you should hold true here.

Same issue with bikes that have 200 plus rear wheel horsepower....i hate regulation but i do believe in the case of box stock high, high performance off the lot there should be mandatory schooling & qualification. No pussyfooting, qualification to handle the machine AFTER limits have been stepped beyond & be able to recover.

I agree, see my comment above.

Way back in 1993 the actor Kelsey Grammer bought a new Viper at West Oaks Dodge.Drove it about 3 blocks and totaled it.My buddy worked in the parts dept at the time. Like said above, low performance drivers and high performance cars....don't mix.
Maybe Frasier was just leaving Cheers and had too much to drink

that car brakes very fast too, it'll about throw u thru the windshield. 6 piston and 14.5" slotted rotors, death wish imo. what a way to go.

They do stop fast when they need to. I tested mine a couple of times and since then have been on alert for tailgaters.

I've said if my quality of life became unbearable that my friends can hold me up on my V-Rod long enough to get me moving forward and the throttle lock will do the rest...

Yep, i never get in the brakes without looking in the rear view.

Like the 210 hp Ducati? :) http://desmosedicistradale.ducati.com/en_us/

Well that was quite the Internet detour! Thanks for the link. At 55, I enjoy my 2011 V-Rod, and my wife has a 2006 Screamin' Eagle V-Rod, so even better. Mix in a healthy dose of Porche engineering with Harley-Davidson's last superbike race motor, and voilà: 1250cc water cooled double overhead cam V-twin....
The ONLY other brand of motorcycle I "would" have is Ducati, I love the Diavel, BUT my skills and age keep me from getting a Ducati due to previously mentioned hazards...

Another story about high performance cars and low performance drivers,,,,
A few years ago at the Mopars At The Strip show in Vegas,A guy let his girlfriend take his Viper down the track, she never drove on a drag strip before. He gave her instructions on the stage and the lights but failed to tell her what to do at the top end.........Well, she went thru the lights, with her foot flat on the floor and kept going,,and going,,and going,,,,,till she hit the sand trap........Epic Fail.
