My stuff, their junk.
When I watched my son’s car go down the road this past summer it got me to thinking, he’s not here to get my stuff, who will get my stuff? I’m an open book, loyal and very honest. Yes, I do have two daughters. They are more reserved and not as open about themselves and for that reason I won’t get into their life’s. I will say, for the sake of this thread, that both are professionals in the medical industry. One is still practicing medicine and the other never did, even after passing her boards. She and her husband own 13 winter recreation facilities all around the country and a shipping business outside of this country. My point is they do not care for or need my stuff, which they call JUNK. They have said my wife and I should go and do anything, anywhere and spend our money on us and not worry about them. They have told us what a hassle they will have when we are gone dealing with my stuff, to them, JUNK. So that means all the stuff I have been saving all my life, stamps, model cars, metal signs, old license plates, coins, mechanic tools, guns, antique lights, antique furniture, car parts, metal draw cabinets full of every bolt, screw known to God, cars, my furniture making tools and equipment, dozens and dozens of boxes full of stuff and the list goes on, needs to be dealt with. You see, our stuff, when we’re gone, may become someone’s junk to deal with! A few days ago I commended on dadsbee’s air filter. I said it would make a nice picture frame for a car part to hang in it on the wall , as he said, fella, that is a day one OE oval filter. I figured that. I said it could be done without hurting it. When it was all said and done, he got it. Besides us, who knows that it’s a sweet piece of history, for me anyway and yes we’re going to add it to our stuff. For some of us, when we’re gone, that old filter in going in the trash and some may say, what the hell did he keep this old piece of **** for!! So now, I’m using it, hanging it, to make sure I get my wear out of it! My 65 I will drive and wear out, fix it and keep repeating because, I get it now!...... But,
I invited some of my son’s old friends that have been by my side after he passed, never left my side and visit several times a month, over to talk about this. They know the girls very well and know they are not trying to be rude and are just being honest. They are minimalist and would never know what to do with all my stuff, JUNK. I gave all my long guns, 15, with the safe, all my tools, that I don’t use all the time, TOD’ed all my cars, including my 65, with an understanding that they get all of it after I’m gone. After my wife passes away, they get half of everything I own. My son would have loved us doing this and the girls don’t mind. They will carry on with it and I know it’s taken care of, you know, all my bitchin stuff!!!! What do you all think and what are you all going to do? Remember, you can’t take it with you!!
