Nearing completion of a refresh of the rear axle & want to replace the rear 11x2-1/2 bonded shoes.....69RR, HD 11x3, non self adjuster drum brakes. The present shoes, possibly original, are a mixture of Bendix & Aimco-Canada. Was considering replacing with Bendix RSR 446, however, the hole for placement of the the round parking brake lever pivot stud, located in the upper shoe portion, is now square, vs round as needed. Has anyone used these? Other brands, such as Raybestos 335PG, and Wagner Z335, have the round hole as original to accept the round parking lever pivot stud.

What brands do u guys recommend/use for original style shoe replacement? Thanks.....Jim

Kit. Been over 10 years. Quiet and straight.

All of the new garbage that is offered is just that --
Garbage.... It HAS to be because of Asbestos laws.
The ONLY QUALITY brakes with nice smoooooth braking capability is ++ N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ period.

The difference between the # 446 and # 335 brake shoes -- the major difference -- is the top hole is 100% round on the 335 -- specifically needed for 1963 - 1972... The # 446 is "slotted" for 1973 & up. To use a 446 shoe where a 335 is required -- it is VERY VERY
Sloppy.....

Fortunately, I have some ++ N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++
335 brake shoes.... Life is Great.
Yours, Craig
