No. It annoys me that we already pay for the internet, which isn't cheap, and now you have them, and others wanting to charge even more for their product.

I’ll admit to subscribing to MT on demand. I like Roadkill, and Roadkill Garage; Graveyard Cars; Junkyard Gold; Engine Masters.

At $1/month it's a total steal, imo. They are adding car content all the time, between gas monkey, wheeler dealers, now top gear plus all the original shows. Their 4 original shows (Roadkill, HotRod Garage, Roadkill Garage and Dirt Every Day) are great, plus they have another lined up for next year with Finnegan. Ad-free content. It's a no-brainer.

I get what the other guy is saying, we already pay for MotorTrend on tv, why should we have to pay more? Besides, MT plays a lot of reruns and I’m more interested in seeing new stuff.

Hagerty customers get Motor Trend on demand for free. I like some of the shows, but it is a crappy streaming service. Very slow and buffers often, and finding a certain episode takes forever.
I'll take it for free, but otherwise I'll pass.

I ditched a bunch of cable content about 8 mos ago and pared down to a pretty basic selection of channels. I signed up for a few streaming services and get all the shows I used to watch on TV for less than half the difference. The only channel I miss is Comedy Central. ;)

We have pretty solid internet so I've never had a problem with streaming services, but I can see how that kind of buffering would give a very sour impression.

My Wi-Fi is good. Netflix, Hulu, etc stream well and no buffering whatsoever. Motor Trend on demand is the crappy streaming.

Nope and the magazine sucked too.

Remember when satellite first came out? You bought a 10/12' dish and got free, NO commercial TV! Ahh, the good old days.

To bad cable doesn't do ala carte channel choices. Subscribe to this or that streaming channel $5 here $9.95 there your talking real money.

I just watch all the RoadKill stuff on YouTube.

The ad-free content is costs much more.

I just edited my original post to add the correct link to the MT on demand deal.

hmm...anyone actually know how long the service Contract goes for?
" $23.99/year for the first year, then $49.99/year.
Your subscription will begin on December 12, 2019."

i read the the terms of service and saw no printed year end.
i also noted that they claim no liability for any of their sponsors products nor do they police their vendors or sponsors.
in other words, their sponsors could be selling You dogsh1te as gold and the motor trend people would just smile at you and ask if you wanted a napkin with that.
plus it sure looks like they sell your info to 3rd party types too....

nah,i dont need roadkill that bad....

Are people really complaining about a dollar a month??? FWIW, there is a ton of content not on cable in addition to the entire archive. I think it’s great! TV is the ripoff.

Do you have the cheaper account with commercial ads? Ads are annoying to me.

I think it is. I don’t watch all of it. Maybe about a third of the content.
The only “re-runs” are the ones you click on. New episodes every month. A few shows have “extras” that can be a few days apart or three times a day depending on what craziness is happening.

Way looking forward To Finnigans new show!

I just received an email regarding a special pricing they are pushing for their online content. I tried it for a while when it was $5 per month but did not think that the few shows I liked watching was worth it.

Here's a link to the special offer.

I pay 4.99 a month for the entire site. No ads. I rarely watch tv now. I think the MTOD is a great deal if you enjoy the content. If not, subscribing is optional.
I had the pleasure of meeting freiburger at the zip tie drags a couple of years ago and we were discussing people being angry when they(roadkill) were purchased by the discovery channel and the roadkill show was no longer on YouTube for free. he asked me, "do you work for free?" We had a good laugh. And it makes sense to me. It costs a lot of money to make television. I worked in the biz for 23 years.
