I'm starting to be sorry that I started this thread. I only meant to highlight where a survey says are good places to retire.
I didn't write the survey nor do I agree with it. I didn't mean to start a cat fight.
Nonsense. Poppycock even.

Cool thing is, there's something to like about anywhere in these good ol' states I'd like to think.
Even though I'm not in the SW, I love me some "tex mex" (when my well-ventilated gullet allows
me to, anyways) for example. There's places that do it well in this region.
LOVE me some NY style pizza and places have it here as good as any I've had up north.
The "fat pizza" from Chicago has its' place (love a good deep dish pan pizza!).
Pennsylvania (especially Dutch country) has some of the best food I've ever gotten my hands on, too.
NC barbecue? Get outta here, it's FANTASTIC when done properly - but so is Texas bbq.
I could go on and on....
Climate would be the big limiting factor for me on where to live, political as well as meteorological.
The older I get, the less tolerance I have for cold, simply put - and a lot of those countries on the list
get DAMN cold from what I've read.
