Wife or car?

My wife likes to drive her 68 Dart much more then work on them but will help out whenever I need an extra hand. She was helping me last fall to get the 340 ready to install back in her Dart. 25 years together having fun with our cars!

Well when you get old, no car will fix you something to eat or at least look out for ya. Sometimes ya wanna hear something even if it’s bitching. Gets lonely

First i must say, a great wife is worth more then a car. But in 1972 I went to a Dodge dealership and wanted a special car. I special ordered a 1973 Dodge Charger, 340 6 pack. But that engine was not available any longer. The dealer actually called the Factory and they had a 340-6 still available. I order this: 73 Charger, 340-6 with bubble hood, pistol grip 4 speed with a bench seat. Yellow with black stripes, best radio available at the time, Duals and a few other things. The Factory would put a special code on the VIN that states a special ordered engine. I placed the special order. That night my wife cried and complained about the car so i cancelled it the next day. I put my wife before my car. Problem is that 6 months later i got a divorce. I would still put a great wife before any car, but i guess my wife was not great.
Umm, Robert...have you not been keeping your eye on "Wife Trader?"
They are not going for what they once were...here in Florida, husbands "unloading" or trading...are having to throw in a heck of lot more incentives than they did just a few years ago...
The days of riding the car AND the wife are long gone...AND gas prices are at 30+ year lows...shoulda kept the six pack!!

Ummm, no...hell no!
The car can take you TO food...ANY food!
And there is no loneliness driving a Six Pack, Hemi, B or RB or...see where I am going with this?

Damn, sounds just like my story. I ordered a 73 Petty blue Road Runner 340 4 speed, while stationed overseas. My wife hated that car. She said its me or the car. Like a fool I chose her. 3 kids, and 23 years later she left me. I could not find my Road Runner, but I found one almost like the one I had. I sure love my new 73 RR.

So you'd rather hear bitchin' than be lonely?? We're men. Men can survive being alone vs women needing to jump in a relationship after a relationship (in their early years they're chasing daddy replacements).

Okay so you're old and need someone to help out? Look towards a nephew, niece, friend's kids, younger friends etc. Whom ever from your network. Much better than a naggin' wifey and you'll save tons of money if you didn't marry in the first place.

I know guys who are in their 3rd marriage. WTF!!! You didn't learn your lesson not once but twice??

You can always do the GF route so it's easier to bail with little financial loss. Just go thru the 6 month emotional ride.

My 2¢

Feel kinda bad for you guys without a good woman.
Here's the wife sitting on my Caddy.

I'm 54, and I've never had a wife. But I bought my first Mopar at age 17 (red 74 Satellite) and I have owned a Mopar virtually ever since. I'm happily single, but if I ever do meet the love of my life and she wanted me to get rid of my 72 RR, she would no longer be the love of my life. That's fact.

Not me, I have a good relationship, 49 years married but I have a few good friends who are in that boat. There’s women (and guys) out there that would bend over backward to be in any relationship.

I don't care if you look like Gregory Peck:

I'd rather hear the sound of a big block 440 or 426 any day over someone bitching.

REALLY NICE CAR! But I don't care who you are, I don't let anyone sit on, lean on, or touch my car, including me.

Well that's your problem right there, you think these cars are important.
Fact is they're just ******* cars, just toys to play with.
