Mopar Stock Valve Cover Breather

50 years old and just as good as new!!!

The little wins in life! I love this hobby! Always have enjoyed taking what people see as junk or old and transforming it!

I'm not doubting anyone, but I can't imagine they would have used a "steel" wool inside. A piece of steel wool will rust and disintegrate in no time at all just in the open air. ???
Not if it's oil covered and getting gunkier by the month, it won't.
Steel wool isn't really the proper term here, it should be. "A steel wool type material" would be better!

How about a metal scouring pad material. Doesn't matter, he has it all cleaned up and stated he only sees a baffle inside.

You want to play games with semantics? Go right ahead, I'm out!

Not semantics, SS scouring pads...

All I saw was the baffle but could there be some form of scouring that is stainless not sure as I can’t get in there. The solvents I used are greatly dampened (slow to move) when I pour it out. This could mean some scouring material is packed in there. All that just to keep the motor from burping out oil? Shouldn’t the airflow be coming in and going out the pcv on the other side?

Trying to not go stir crazy so little bit of hobby time is good medicine for me. Cleaned off my old valve covers such that I can replace the chrome ones which I hate.
Soak it in Kerosene

I would like to reuse my 1970 valve cover breather as I like that stock look AND new one are like $50 min.

Question: Can I clean it out somehow and if so whats a good method?
