i have 2 60" samsung, 1 55" and 4 32 " for the price, you cant beet them IMO

I spent big money on a curved 65" 4k Samsung when they first came out. It has worked well and no issues. Knock on wood. I also have a laser DLP 61" Samsung that Is 15 years old. I had to change the DLP chip a few years back. Did it myself and it cost about $150 for parts. The hardest part was re-aligning the picture after repair. It is still about 1/4" high but I don't care. It just recently started to make some fan noise. I won't repair it again but I do like the picture even at only 1080p. I bought a 55" no name brand ROKU smart tv for my daughter a few years back. No issues and it only cost like $400. I like the Samsung brand for televisions but am not tied to them. I have their appliances too and not as big a fan for them.

I paid just under a grand for a 75 samsung, cause I had other Samsung I was impressed with. Just got it fired up a week ago. I'm not a bit impressed with the picture.
If I had it to do over, I'd buy a cheap 70 for about half that price.

My latest 49" Samsung TV was FREE with my Samsung Galaxy 10 phone nearly 18 months ago.

It was a no-brainer really...the phone was the same price without the TV...and interest free payments means actually zero interest (for a change) as long as you're on a plan, there is no interest, and we can have up to 3 phones on tick at any time. My wife and kids prefer i-phones....I personally don't like anything based on a fruit.

I like SONY better... made in Japan instead of China

uh . . . Take it as a sign and quit watching TV, there really isn't much on there anymore . . . Lol

High-end SONY and Panasonic come out of Japan.
Samsung is South Korea - very reliable.

Most other brands are in lesser technically advanced countries using sub-standard components.

Philips is no longer necessarily made in Holland.....such a shame.

Even the historic Korean Brands like LG and Samsung are now increasingly coming out of places like Vietnam and Malaysia and China. The middle class wages in Korea forcing their television production out of country.

Like most of us, 2020 is a kick in the balls.
Wife is still in the hospital, but getting better now thanks for all your prayers.
Then tonight, the TV quit. Checked all the normal stuff. I'm pretty sure it's toast.
So, any recommendations for a new TV? The Old one was a Samsung 60" LED?
Seems all the new TVs I looked at are "smart" and 4K?
Looks like there are several nice? 65" TVs in the $500 to $1,000 range?
Glad she is doing better. We have had good luck with LGs.

That's the truth. I like to stream Motortrend RoadKill, Engine Masters, and other car shows. Watched a few of the series too like Netflix Lucifer and Cobra Kai
My Granddaughter and I like playing video games on the TV too.
