Feeling conflicted? The thread title asks which RoadRunner is best and heading for the poll asks which is your favorite.

The (overall) best is the '71.

My vote for favorite was the '68.

A lot has to do with my personal experiences during the 60's and 70s that drive my biases for and against certain years.

I would buy a '68 RoadRunner over any other year based on looks alone; and it's the first year.

I gave up on finding special model RoadRunners ('69 & '70) in the early '80s.

The F bodies are great cars for the money, yep dirt cheap! Only part that is not cheap is the grill!!! Here's one for sale $3500 drive anywhere.... Texas!!!!

I voted for the '69, but for me it's a tough call between the '68-'70 models. Side markers: '68, Tail Lights: '69, Hood Scoop and shifter: '70. The '70 (and '71) Air Grabber is arguably the coolest thing any manufacturer ever put on a production car. My '70 GTX had one, and sitting at a stop light one night in '83, I had a couple of guys refuse to believe me that it was factory.

have you given him a demonstration of power?

1970 for me, air grabber hood, pistol grip shifter, 383, 440+6, Hemi, axle packages, color options, awesome body style.

^^This^^

I like all the styling and hardware changes on the ‘70, but that awesome, in your face, snarling, “warbird” mouth popping up out of the hood...we’ll it’s just awesome!

Yes, I have a 1970 now and that is because of all the above. To me, the number one factor is the air grabber scoop that pops out of the hood - You can't get any cooler than that! But the great gauges, pistol grip shifter, front end design, etc. are icing on the cake.

So I voted for 1970, but I had a 1973 Road Runner (still in family - given to my son). The 73 was my first car and I drove the heck out of it in all kinds of weather. It was, after all, just transportation back then. But it was super comfortable, no rattles and served me very well. With the 340 it also had decent performance, and the A/C made long trips in the summer quite nice. Someone said the front ends looked too big, and I agree with that - the styling on the 73 and 74's for the front could be better.

69 for me, I like the grill a lot better in 69.

Here is a 68 and 70 for your comparison

Can't pick one. 70 thru 75 are my favorites, all for different reasons.

I voted for the 71.
I like that shape best and it could still be had with a hemi. (unlike the 72 model)
