Where's that noise coming from?

Since i picked up my car from the shop its making this "ticking" noise.
See attached video. Already pulled the valve cover but everything looks to be okay. (Now back on)

My guesses (im not a professional mechanic / sure though):
- It seems like it comes from the driver side.
- It also seems to get louder as you accelerate.
- For me it seems like its not coming out of the engine itself. The engine is also running just fine.

You think an exhaust leak could be responsible for the "ticking"?
I'm not sure but i will investigate a bit further tomorrow.

I had them perform a "major" service.

Replaced:
Engine oil + filter, transmission fluid + gasket/filter, differential oil, power steering fluid, spark plugs, air cleaner, brake fluid, coolant and window cranks

fixed:
dashboard backlight dimmer, missing fan shroud added, removing aftermarket underdash hazzard light/flasher

They used the right stuff because i provided the parts and fluids.

It's just the picture. The car is standing with all 4 tires on the ground.

The work they did I can’t see causing an issue. I listened again and if I’m listening to the right sound, it’s an exhaust leak I’m hearing.

One other thought just came to me. If the converter has a drain plug, possible it’s rubbing on the block if it wasn’t tightened all the way. That said, the sound I hear sounds more like an exhaust leak.

I will see if i can spot an exhaust leak tomorrow!
I will also check if it only does it when driving or also in neutral when reving it up a bit.

But the transmission has no drain plug as far as i know. Its a 727 torqueflite in a 69 charger r/t.

Some torque converters have a drain plug in them. If it has one and isn’t fully tight, it could be rubbing slightly. Unlikely, but possible.

If the engines cold and you can be quick before things get super hot you might be able to feel an exhaust leak.

If your exhaust was disonnected to access the transmission pan (pans gotta come down to get to filter), it's likely an exhaust leak...they didn't get it sealed where they disconnected it... probably at one of the manifolds. If you have a 'Y' pipe (two into one), it crosses under the front bolts of the pan. They would lower it to gain access to the bolts.

That's probably what happened!
Especially because its the area where the sound comes from AND it did not do it bevor it was in the shop.

I concur with the others, sounds like an exhaust leak. What type of exhaust do you have on your car? Dual, dual-with H/X pipe, single pipe, etc? It's also possible they torqued or pulled on the exhaust pipe during the work and if there was a slightly loose nut/bolt it could have broken the gasket.

Catastophic converter is bad.
