We get those in our yard. They pick off Mourning Doves in mid-air.My wife snapped this photo in our backyard today, it’s a Sharp Shinned Hawk:

He’s eyeing our bird feeders, where lots of finch, Jays, and Doves like to congregate. A year ago I watched a Coopers Hawk swoop down and pluck a ring neck dove off a power wire. He subdued it on the ground, then flew off. This hawk seems to be contemplating the same.
Please cook the rice.I looked in the cupboard and found some outdated pancake mix. Mixed it up, added cooking oil for more calories, and popped it in the microwave. Looked out just now and a couple birds were chowing down. Think I will make some more as I found some very old rice.
