Is there a difference between a factory HP intake vs non HP intake?
 
Might not be a cross over for heat exchange between the head's like original. But I have a holey intake and no cross over. So we blocked it off with the valley pan or gasket. Jeg sell's one with no cross over.
 
Sorry mine is a 383. Don't remember if the 440 has a cross over.
 
If you really want performance, go with a good aluminium.
 
Only special 440 manifold would be the Six Pack. Any 4 barrel will be the same unless the intake ports were fooled with.
Unless you are just wanting the factory look spend your money on an aluminum aftermarket manifold, new one if possible. True performance designs and much lighter in weight. Now if you have a 2 Barrel and are looking to go 4 barrel... Don't pay much for it if you have to get it. If you can get the casting numbers from it you can just look it up and see what it came from.

For a single 4bbl application, there is generally one manifold used across the car range for a particular model year.

For the same model year, a low-po 440 in a wagon would get the same intake as a GTX.

Depending on what you’re trying to do, a stock iron intake could easily be holding you back.
 
Like said there's no difference in 440 intakes the same year they are the same part number. The 1973 and newer 440s used a spread bore pattern for the thermoquad. 65-72 was the square pattern intake for the carter avs or holley, or you can buy a 30 dollar carb adaptor and use either intake for either carb. Oem all had a heat cross over...We usually block them off and use a electric choke.
