Name that tune

Friendship is the only beast
that's never known to bite
until its dead.

Without Google, this one is almost impossible.

"Southern Accent" to be precise. Love that tune (along with so many by TPATHB)...
I used to catch hell from my headbanging buds for being into such, but that's ok - with age, they
came to see the merits of it, too.
This is one of my favorite live performances.
What a band they were.
I can listen to them everyday, never gets old.

"Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats"

Where am I going?
I don't know
When will I get there?
I ain't certain
All that I know
Is I am on my way

You're right. Had to look it up. J.F. Murphy &
Salt. I've not listened to their stuff much.

Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight

Rush was bizarre with some of their
lyrics. My wife's favorite band.

Subdivisions - Rush "Signals" LP
circa 1982 (Back when weed was illegal)
Probably my favorite Rush song amongst many.

Your wife has excellent taste.
All of Rush's lyrics were written by their drummer, Neil Peart (RIP).
The man was not only the best rock drummer in history, but quite the poetic genius as well.
There's good reason his nickname was "professor".

Interesting choice. My wife recognized this
stanza as she was into stage and drama in
high-school. Paint Your Wagon was one of
the plays they performed.

This one should be easy enough to figure
out. The song hit #80 on Rolling Stone's
list of the top 500 songs of all time.

"People say, believe half of what you see
son, and none of what you hear."

“ And the crowd gets loud when the band gets right, steel guitar crying through the night, yeah, trying to cover up the corner fight, but everything’s cool cause they just tight”

one of my favorites!

Heres another one:

”I cannot get there from here, baby
and I don’t care where I’m goin,
here’s your thin red line,
I’m stepping over…
