Just Got Bumpers Back

Tri-City did my bumpers several years ago and they still look great. They're great people to deal with.

Lesson here to us all, if you have rechromable cores and CAN hang on to them, they will be of value to someone in the days/years to come. I had a member here give me his usable core as he bought AMDs that were available then and even though it cost me a $100 bucks to get it here, it looks great rechromed and installed. Much thanks.

Any one know if tri-city is good with smaller stuff as well, or just bumpers?

They did the small bumper guards as well. I would assume they are good with most any chrome plating.

I also made that assumption just last week and went to their website.
Bumpers are all they do, and from the numerous examples seen over the years, they are EXCEPTIONAL at it.

Ok, thanks for the info! Paul's Chroming did some stuff for my bike and it came back really nice. Looks like Tri-City will be getting my bumpers, though!

800 each, but my rear was unusable so they provided the bumper and re-chromed it for $1000. I also did the bumper guards on the front for $160 since the car came new with them
I got the following quote from Paul's Chrome Plating in PA.

Hi Michael, just remove brackets, lights or the like, we will take care of
the surfaces, once stripped and any straightening or dent removal is done
metal is polished to a 1000 grit finish, then copper plated and buffed until
we have a perfect mirror finish on copper prior to nickel and chrome,
plating is guaranteed against peeling, should run about 2500.00 for the
pair, turn time now is about 5 months, let me know if you have any other
questions, thanks Bill

t.f, They did the bumprettes for my Challenger years ago, and turned out Great. Dropped them at Carlisle, and had them back in a month. Think it was $180, shipped back to me, but prices were different then...

Think our nearest good place charges about 750.00-850.00 per US. Haven’t checked for awhile.

I just had mine done last Nov by TriCity. I drove there and dropped them off as I was passing thru on a trip from FL. Mine were 3 pc. 70 Superbee set. I think they were about 1700 for the set and the rear had dents to fix. All three took about 6 weeks or maybe a little more. I got them back and discovered some scratches in the surface chrome( not the underlying metal) in one of the fronts. I called and emailed Chip. No issue at all. Put one back in the box and shipped it back. (My cost) It came back flawless and again....no argument! They do stand behind their work!!! I have a 71 Demon that's gonna need some plating!!

Hmmmm ... guess you're not old enough to remember "new". They NEVER looked that good when "new". Try to think what its like to crank out a few hundred thousand bumpers. Do you think they all got perfectly ground, buffed and polished before they went in the plating tanks ?!?!? Hell, the bodywork and paint on the cars wasn't anywhere near perfect.
these cars were a long way from perfect coming out of the factory, from gaps, to paint, to chrome etc. Mine won't be perfect when the restoration is done, but much of it will be better than new.

Paul's chrome does great work, but were considerably more expensive on everything they quoted. They quoted $400 each for the chrome tail light bezels. Luckily I found someone online that had re-chromed a pair years ago they didn't need. Paid $300 for the pair, look brand new. Every restoration of these cars isn't going to be concourse quality, but some things cost the same whether a driver or trailer queen.
