With Elon's Midas Touch, he could keep Tesla exclusively EV while allowing the domestic company to evolve organically. This means embracing the petrol engine platforms for now. I would expect quality to improve, stocks to sky rocket, and prices to actually come down.
With that said, I wish he would buy Chrysler Corporation -- not all of Stellantis -- just Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, and Jeep. Let the Europeans run their European brands.

Well, it is a publicly traded company so yeah, he could buy a shitload of Ford stock.

It would be nice if someone would buy back CDRJ, but I think the French are going to run it into the ground. They closed Auburn Hills office building, just let go of another 2200 employees, stopped all production at the Detriot facility.

It would be great if he took over the "Chrysler" wing all right. I think the oil based car and truck industry isn't over now and will thrive with some forward thinking. There is room for the electric deal as well, they will both do well in the future. Electric would never have been realistic at 100%.
Musk would want all the control which would be possible taking over "Chrysler", not so with Ford.

Elon can buy as much of Ford stock as he wants. He can only buy non voting stock like the rest of the public. The voting stock is controlled by the Ford family and its entities.

I'll sell him all of my Ford stock. **** has not moved in 40 f-ing years. I keep it now just to remind myself that money would have been better spent on beer.

Elon probably bought Ford stock because it was low,and with changes coming to the EPA they will make a profit once they can sell what people want to buy.

No, actually. I saw the facebook post and decided to do a search of what was out there in support and opposition. The fact that there was at least one source (CNA) to support it, I linked the article. My main point was actually in my second post, where someone competent (perhaps like Musk) could effectively turn ChryCo around -- make it a company where old timers like us might actually consider buying the new stuff again. First time reading anything from CNA, and to be honest, the first time I ever heard of them.
He bought FOX & CNN also.

Sorry all these stories of Musk buying everything are fake news. Musk has jumped into politics, so the rumor mills are cranking full speed ahead.
