71 Charger Superbee Tribute/Restomod Build

Since I cannot work on the car or anything else for that matter, I decided to surf the internet any buy crap... LOL I just bought a new plasma cutter, I used to have one that I probably mentioned here but it took up too much room. This one is portable.

Let us know how it works out, that might have to go on my list of things to buy. Very cool concept!

I've been watching a lot of videos on it and I think it is exactly what I need. Now I need to build a cart of sorts for it and the plasma cutter stuff.

Its been awhile since I posted mainly because its been awhile since I worked on the car. Since hitting the deer I've been mainly working on the Bike but I did manage to get the carpet into the Charger and roughly fitted, hopefully I can get back to it soon, I'd really like to get it further along.

I did find time to make the jack bridge for my new 4 post lift, also I got my Arcdroid set up and made the first cut with it (its awesome).

It is awesome, you can trace a pattern and then cut it or you can design something in CAD and then cut it

Found some time to delve into the Charger's wiring, I discovered that the Vintage air does in fact work but the switched 12V isn't providing power as it should, so I need to figure out why that is.

Also as I was working on it I noticed the dome and glove box light were "pulsing" and I could hear a faint noise that matched the rhythm. Ultimately I discovered that the map light was shorting so I need to figure that out...

It seems like its a complicated mess but I think it is actually something much simpler, I just need to figure it out by combing through the harness a bit.

As I guessed, it was something simple.... I had it wired correctly but the ignition switch (which is a GM unit) was not making contact in the run position, thus my "switched" devices were not getting power (like the HVAC).

I investigated the map light situation and as it turns out when I was working in the car with the power on, the dome, map and glove box lights are on (glove box because the door is off). It seems that the #562 bulb burns a but hot and melted some of the vinyl above it which was making contact and shorting out that circuit.

I have ordered an LED bulb specifically designed for dome lights and the like, hopefully it should run cooler.
