Have you upgraded to LED tail lights? If so do you like them, work well, etc? Where/ what brand did you get? Im specifically looking for my 69 satellite.

They will certainly be brighter. You will need an electronic flasher because the old relay type flasher and LED's don't play well together. You can also clean and paint the insides of hour housings and polish the lenses. Thread moved to electrical forum.

I didn't mine earlier this year. Cheapie amazon and car show bulbs. I used an electronic flasher from jegs. Here's a pic of the the tail lights. You can see the dash lights also. I used dimmable bulbs in the dash. They are full bright in the pic.
I'm using a painless harness also.

They are a proven safety upgrade. In that at highway speeds they can reduce following cars stopping distance at speed by 6? feet, becuase they light up so much faster.
One downside, I installed them in my Rams rear taillights, but because it rides a bit rough when empty, and the LED's I choose are rather bulky and heavy, they would occasionally inside the lens fall out unbeknownst to me while driving.

If that was a legitimate factor, insurance companies would offer a discount for switching to led brake lights.

Putting in led tail/brake lights was worth it. Big difference and fewer people looking like they might rear-end me when braking or turning. Pretty sure they are the 1157. Had them in for about 3-years and no problem with them.

What I like is that the dome light and trunk light don't get hot,,,, no more brown burned lens.

And they give out a "Romantic Glow" :poke:

"Well, you see officer, the reason I rear ended that guy was because the filaments in his bulbs didn't start glowing quick enough."

Anybody want to host a few videos? Laugh all you want, the LEDs respond quicker & the difference in brightness is substantial....

I have two 70 Challengers, one with Digitails & one with regular bulbs... If the sun is shining on the tail lights when the hazard flashers are on the regular bulbs are practically invisible...

If you read the first part.... The part where I asked....

"Anybody want to host a few videos?"

Yes, I have videos, but lack the skill to do anything with them...
However another member has offered to host them so perhaps in the next few days we will have something more than words...
