I bought a pair of rear exhaust hangers from year one, but where the hell do they mount to? The have a nut that inside a hole, but where?

They bolt to the bottom of the frame rail. Can’t recall if there is a weld nut or access to place a nut inside. Mine are home made but roughly mimic those in your post. When installed there will be a 90 degree bend in the rubber. This will bump you back up where someone may have a better memory.

The brackets I bought have the slips nuts with them, now I just have to find those holes, they are on the bottom of the frame rails? Thanks.

It could be another one of those Dodge vs Plymouth things but I don’t think those hanger will work bolted to the rail sides, will they?

No.. it's probably me. What happens when no car or year is stated and the OP asks how the hangers work in Joel's 69 Bee thread and then here.

67 charger..
Pretty sure it's just like post #2. Should be a square hole beside a round hole, and the slip nut goes through the square.

Bottom of the rail or side? I guess the hanger could work either way.

Are you able to see the pic in post #2
I was viewing it on my home computer. I just checked it out with my phone. Now I can enlarge it. Now I get how it goes. I can’t see any holes without removing some of the thick undercoating, but hopefully they are there.

Well the right side should be visible at least , all cars had that one in use. Unless it was removed and undercoated over later.

Both the passenger and driver side have the holes I need.
Yes they were all made with the holes, but only dual exhaust cars used the left side.
So your findings are exactly what is to be expected
