I'm doing a complete rebuild and doing an O/D conversion (Brewers) was going to do 1st & 2nd syncros at the same time. I have the option of replacing the old style syncro rings (narrow slot) or replacing the whole hub assembly with the new style syncro rings (wide slot) . What are others opinions on the 2 styles of rings is one any better than the other. Apparently the syncro rings were done not long before I bought the car but 1st and 2nd have always been a bit tight to push into gear.

I am fairly certain my last build used the newer wide slot synchro's. Something about being more forgiving and more room for oil to move around.

I'm no expert, so I took advice from an old-timer who has spent his life working on Mopar's.

Did you notice any difference between the 2.
The newer build was definitely nicer shifting gears. My Road Runner back in the 80's always seemed a little harder between gears at speed. I never really power-shifted that thing....didn't need to with that sort of power.

Here's a quick-ish change from first to second..... (Road Runner is up second) :)

In my GTX the change was faster I believe....

....BTW, I was invited to do that on the clean concrete pad to see if there was any grip remaining after being power-washed. Honest.
