440 rebuild difficulty 1-10

Well this is FBBO as in forbbodiesonly. FABO is forabodiesonly. Kim
Got it.
Oddly enough, it seems I've been in contact with Jim. I never followed up with him after my car went down, temporarily. Lost his info. Did a quick Facebook search and found our old conversation. Meeting with him on Friday. Thanks for the recommendation.

This just made me think to factor in cost of high zddp oil as a factor when choosing flat tappet or roller. $100 oil changes get old pretty fast.
many of my cars are converter to roller cams, and oil changes on them still are not cheap when using synthetic oil.

cost wise you would need to take the difference in costs of the oil changes and figure how many oil changes to make up the difference.
I really just chose the cam type by what the application is and don't really constrain to costs.

Big block Mopars are pretty straightforward to rebuild but you’ll need to get your hands on some specialized tools to do the job correctly. Top of the list is a decent torque wrench. You will also need a ring compressor, feeler gauges and a dial indicator is useful for checking crank end play, finding TDC and to degree in the cam. Over the years I’ve accumulated a drawer full of tools used almost exclusively for engine building, although I have gotten by with much less…

Someone previously reminded me that I do not have a dial indicator.
I need to make a mental note. LoL

I'm on this auction site out of Paso. Previously there weren't as many items for sale. Now there is quite a bit to be had. Tools[ some of the stuff you may need], several BB Mopar blocks, a KB aluminum Hemi block, a Max Wedge intake and carbs, plus many other items of potential interest to many.
