This is from the 3 September 1970 issue of Machine Design magazine. I've not seen this system in person (though to be fair, I haven't spent much time around '71 Chargers). Anyone run into this? Was it '71 only, or did they continue it for a few years?

My 71 Super Bee had it. It was an Executive lease car so it was decked out. Washer bottle was black and next to the headlights. Some pics. The car was for sale as a "survivor" this year at Carlisle. Had lots of rust issues that were "covered up" to look like original paint. Never got to talk to the owner. I pulled it out of the Executives sons garage in 2008 where it had sat since 1976.

This option was also available on 1971 Plymouth Fury models with the hide away head light system.

Thanks for the pics Jeff

Sure!! 71 B bodies didn’t get hideaways… I really meant Chargers (with hideaways) of course

There appears to be an entire headlight wiper setup for a 1971 Charger for sale on E-Bay right now: wiring, actuators, wipers, etc. Pretty rare.

A friend of mine has it on his 71 Charger R/T .. kinda neat definitely unique.

Was that the really rough red one that was in the swap meet area?

My friend had a loaded 71 Charger R/T that had those. It was a white car with black stripes.

Got a link? Ebay's search is useless now that it's "AI-powered".

Thanks! On the one hand, yooooo, that's spendy. On the other hand…when's the last time this collection of parts came up for sale? On the other-other hand…where's the fluid reservoir?

Neat auction. Thanks for the link.

Agreed. I was just going to post where is the reservoir. You may never find it these days and if you do it will be complete with everything else.
