what is best method to strip undercoating , mainly on the inner fender , im doing the whole car but on the inner fender/underside i dont want to use anything that adds heat because the fenders are finnidhed paint .

thanks RANDY

There may be a chemical to loosen the old stuff, I use a propane torch, but the heat is an issue, I'd chemical strip it, or get it media blasted.

Get it Plastic Media Blasted! Send it to me (shipping will be a bit) but I'll hook you up on price! check out my site; www.drblast.com

DONNY , thanks for the offer but your a few thousand miles away . i checked out you site NICE WORK  makes me want to start up a media blasting shop .

Yeah, I re-read your post and realized the car was complete...shipping would be a fortune! If you want to start up this kind of business, it's rather costly, to do it right, it would be about 100K US. Good luck!

yea , looks like im still going to stay being a carpenter

I've always used just light heat from say a map gas torch and a scraper, then a good wipe down with a good wax and grease remover like PPG's DX330.

Yeah, softening it up with a propane torch for a few seconds works well, then scrape it off, then use a chemical to clean the residue off.
