Overheating and getting frustrated

Just saw there was a bunch of replies since I first posted my difficulties. A bunch of great explanations and many people with different views. I ended up going back to a mechanical water pump with a flex fan and the chrome half shroud as pictured previously. The water pump is the polished unit from 440 source and am happy with it so far. I tried using the original clutch fan but it didnt deliver enough air flow. With the flex fan, shroud and mechanical water pump, it runs all day at 190. I'm happy and still have the good looks to boot.

I'm glad you got your problem solved Jimbo
Engine compartment looks great.

i know it sounds crazy, but make sure your lower radiator hose is not collapsing when it gets hot.

Some hoses come with a coil like spring in them to prevent the water pump from collapsing them, others are ridged but still flexible to prevent the same thing. It's not a bad idea to use one on the lower side of the radiator.
